This tragic and senseless act of violence on an innocent Metro passenger has shaken our community as thousands take the Metro daily as a form of transportation,” District Attorney Gascón said. April 24, 2024 April 24, 2024: District Attorney Gascón Announces Charges Against Man Who Shot a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy in West Covina Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced today that a man has been charged with shooting on-duty Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Samuel Aispuro as he waited at a red light on his LASD-marked motorcycle on April 22 in the city of West Covina. The senseless and unprovoked shooting of Deputy Samuel Aispuro is a stark reminder of the dangers our law enforcement officers face daily,” District Attorney Gascón said. LOS ANGELES, CA- Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced today that a man has been charged with breaking into the official Getty House residence of Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass by shattering a rear glass door. I’m profoundly relieved that Mayor Karen Bass and her family emerged unharmed in this recent home break-in. April 23, 2024 April 16, 2024: District Attorney Gascón Announces Charges Against Man Who Fired Multiple Rounds at Marina del Rey Apartment Complex MARINA DEL REY, CA – Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón today announced charges against Victoryloc Nguyen for carrying out an unprovoked shooting rampage throughout the grounds of a multi-building apartment complex in Marina del Rey on April 13. I am deeply outraged by the senseless shooting rampage carried out by Mr. Nguyen and I am thankful that no one was injured,” District Attorney Gascón said. Innocent civilians and law enforcement officers were callously targeted without provocation. Our Office’s Bureau of Victim Services remains readily available to assist anyone who was impacted by this horrific act.
